KeYi Gallery are delighted to announce that artist Zhuo Hui's solo exhibition "The Dance Unseen" will open at the Beijing space on June 7th. This is Zhuo Hui's first solo exhibition in collaboration with KeYi Gallery. This exhibition will showcase dozens of works by the artist over the past two years and will run until July 6th.
'The Dance Unseen' is just like the gathering and scattering of a flock of wild geese, the gentle swaying of leaves and their subsequent stillness. A pattern emerges only to vanish quickly, replaced, invaded and broken by another. But all patterns coexist, like one melody flowing into another. Together, they perform this invisible dance hidden within all things.
In my painting practice, one layer is constructing the image, while the next layer attempts to destroy and blur it. Such a repetitive cycle may seem like a nihilistic desperate gamble, but it is more of a simulation of the long and continuous time itself. The image is being generated and the image is being digested. The boundaries of shapes touch each other. They become large, small, solid and light. Until all the images become a system, and everything in the system is just a passer-by, a shadow. They are not the subject but merely the traces of the subject.
