1982年生于河北省唐山，2005年毕业于中央美术学院油画系，现工作、生活于北京。
带有叙事意味的人物和场景，一直是齐星长期以来专注的绘画主题。在绘画语言上，齐星没有用苏派，而是再往前追溯着使用着一种古典油画的技法，土红底子，透明而薄的暗部，较少用蓝色，这种简省的色谱所带动是一种节制的绘画气质，在塑造与用笔上也是如此，亦有一丝巡回画派般粗砺中的诚实，毫无今天学院写实中常见的油腻。他以既写实又浓郁的个人语言再现出虚幻若真的临场感，展现出艺术家内在的人文关怀及当代性。
Born in 1982, Tangshan, Hebei province. He graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. He lives and works in Beijing.
Characters and scenes with narrative intention are the focus of Qi Xing's paintings. He did not adopt the Soviet art style but rather employed an even earlier technique, using a classical oil painting method: an earth-red base, transparent yet thin shadow areas, limited use of blue. This simplified color spectrum drives a restrained painting temperament, reflected in the shaping and brushwork, carrying an honesty akin to the roughness of a certain circulatory painting school, devoid of the greasiness often found in contemporary academic realism. With his realistic and strong personal artistic language, Qi Xing's works are reproducing the illusion of real presence, showing the artist's inner humanistic concern and the contemporaneity of his generation.
