尹秀珍 Yin Xiuzhen ( b.1963 )

1963年生于中国北京,现生活和工作在北京。

作为一名中国当代艺术的女性领军人物,尹秀珍自1989年毕业于首都师范大学美术系油画专业之后,便开始了她的艺术创作生涯,并且广泛活跃于国际各大展览。尹秀珍目前工作生活在北京,与她的丈夫宋冬共同从事艺术创作。   

尹秀珍的作品通过对旧物的拼接,传达了对于现代社会全球化与同化问题的探索。她利用回收的材料形成一种雕塑性的记忆文献,在高度城市化、现代化以及全球经济增长的急速变化中,试图将那些通常会被忽略的事物个性化,以暗示生命的个体性。艺术家解释说:“在高度变化的中国,‘记忆’似乎比任何事物都消逝得更快。所以保存记忆已经成为了另一种生活方式。”尹秀珍将记忆作为审视其周围政治、社会以及环境构想的批判工具。   

艺术家土生土长在北京,受北京环境快速变化的启发,作品的主题包含了记忆、过去和当下,以及人与其生长在其中的不断变幻的社会之间复杂的关系。通过将旧物聚集在一个新的语境之下,尹秀珍成功地将过去的经历与当下的体验和状态编织在一起。就这样,在试图传达全球性变化之下个体生命状态的过程中,她将“记忆”与“经验”融合起来。


Born in Beijing, China in 1963, currently lives and works in Beijing.

As a leading female figure in Chinese contemporary art, Yin Xiuzhen began her artistic career after graduating from the Fine Arts Department of Capital Normal University in 1989, majoring in oil painting, and has been widely active in major international exhibitions. Yin Xiuzhen currently works and lives in Beijing, and is engaged in artistic creation with her husband Song Dong.

Yin Xiuzhen's works convey her exploration of the issues of globalization and assimilation in modern society through the splicing of old objects. She uses recycled materials to form a sculptural memory document. In the rapid changes of high urbanization, modernization and global economic growth, she attempts to personalize things that are usually ignored to suggest the individuality of life. The artist explained: "In China, which is highly changing, 'memory' seems to fade faster than anything else. So preserving memories has become another way of life." Yin Xiuzhen uses memory as a way to examine the politics, society and environment around her Critical tools for conception.

The artist was born and raised in Beijing and is inspired by the rapid changes in Beijing's environment. The themes of his works include memory, the past and the present, as well as the complex relationship between people and the ever-changing society in which they grow up. By bringing old objects together in a new context, Yin Xiuzhen successfully weaves together past experiences with current experiences and states. In this way, in the process of trying to convey the state of individual life under global changes, she integrated "memory" and "experience".
