中国当代艺术家，生物艺术的开拓者。1942年出生于黑龙江兰西，1964年就读上海戏剧学院，1968年上海戏剧学院舞台美术设计专业毕业后留本院任教直至2002年退休。上世纪六十年代开始从事当代艺术实验活动。现居住在上海和纽约两地。
Chinese contemporary artist and pioneer of bioart. Born in Lanxi, Heilongjiang in 1942, he studied at the Shanghai Theater Academy in 1964. After graduating from the stage art design major of the Shanghai Theater Academy in 1968, he stayed at the academy to teach until his retirement in 2002. He began to engage in contemporary art experimental activities in the 1960s. Currently lives in Shanghai and New York.
