1962年生于上海，1983年毕业于上海工艺美术学校，1989年毕业于北京中央工艺美术学院（现清华大学美术学院）。上世纪八十年代初开始抽象绘画创作。1990年赴美，定居纽约。曾多次举办和参加个展及联展。在美期间，关注于极简、涂鸦、观念等西方艺术流派在当代绘画中新的可能性，作品融合书法和水墨画，2006年回国，现创作、生活于北京，自由艺术家。
Born in Shanghai in 1962, he graduated from the Shanghai Arts and Crafts School in 1983 and the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in Beijing (now the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University) in 1989. He started creating abstract paintings in the early 1980s. He went to the United States in 1990 and settled in New York. He has held and participated in many solo and group exhibitions. During his stay in the United States, he focused on the new possibilities of Western art genres such as minimalism, graffiti, and conceptual art in contemporary painting. His works incorporate calligraphy and ink painting. He returned to China in 2006 and now creates and lives in Beijing as a freelance artist.
