1963年生于甘肃省玉门。他在十三岁时离开家乡，并开始在洛阳自学绘画。1979年高中毕业后，他进入洛阳第一拖拉机制造厂成为了一名工人。1996年移居北京，成为一名自由职业身份的艺术家。
庄辉的艺术创作，源于对现实生存及文化现状的土壤里，强调反思、身体经验、个人意识等。在艺术创作中，善于灵活应用多种媒介，尝试突破艺术表达的边界。

Born in 1963 in Yumen, Gansu Province. He left his hometown at the age of thirteen and began to teach himself to paint in Luoyang, where he graduated from high school in 1979 and became a labourer at the Luoyang No. 1 Tractor Manufacturing Plant, before moving to Beijing in 1996 to work as a freelance artist.
Zhuang Hui's artistic creations are rooted in the reality of existence and cultural status quo, with an emphasis on reflection, physical experience, and personal awareness. In his artistic creation, he is good at applying various media flexibly and tries to break through the boundaries of artistic expression.
