Victor Braun was born in 1990 in the Alsace region of France. In his youth, he moved between the Normandy coast and the Alps. Later, he went to Paris to study design. In 2015, he obtained a master's degree in Transportation Design from the Strate College of Design. Currently, he works and lives in Beijing.
The frequent experiences of geographical migrations have always made Victor's works permeated with a keen perception of the scenery, light, and the atmosphere of space. For Victor, painting is not just an imitation of the external world, but also a projection and release of personal emotions. As a result, his painting behavior has the corresponding attributes of meditation and healing. Victor is good at integrating natural images, emotional projections, and humanistic qualities into the composition of his paintings, thus constructing a unique spatial narrative in his works. Since 2010, the limited creative space has made "oppression" and "escape" the motifs that connect his creations. Taking the atmosphere of a specific field as the keynote, through the experimental use of special self-made tools and recycled materials, Victor transforms the tremors of individual memories, the shocks between cultures, and even the dilemmas of existentialism into unique textures on the canvas, and then reflects the spiritual living state of the individual existence in the contemporary context.
