姆⽐达经常在她的创作画⾯内容⾥呈现出⼀系列值得分享和探讨的个⼈经历，它们是关乎胜利或失败、奢华或简朴、仍在探索或已安置的故事。在这些丰富的私密叙事之外，姆⽐达的作品还体现了⼀个诗意的追求：她企图通过艺术，巧妙地以社会学的视⻆，跨越时间的画布，去进⾏档案式的探索，以揭示喀⻨隆及其他地区在时间流逝中不断变化的⽣活⽅式。
Born in 1990 in Nkongsamba, Cameroon, graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts Nkongsamba, Cameroon in 2016. Mbida has developed a figurative practice centred on depicting home interiors and their resounding silence. Currently, she lives and works in Douala, Cameroon.
Mbida’s distinctive artistic practice lies in her ability to create works that manifestly encapsulate the essence of her subjects’ lives, while meticulously documenting the surroundings in which they unfold. Often brought to life on paper or canvas through the skilful use of acrylic and pastels, Mbida’s work immerses viewers in the stillness of filled spaces, constructing environments that pulsate with palpable tension or vulnerability.
The subjects of her work are often individuals whose personal stories of victory or defeat, opulence or modesty, exploration or sedentarisation, are worth sharing and highlighting. Transcending the richness of these intimate narratives, Mbida’s work also embodies a poetic endeavour: an artful pursuit to cast a sociological lens and undertake an archival odyssey, unravelling the intricate threads of evolving lifestyles in Cameroon and beyond, across the canvases of time.
