1978年生于湖南衡阳，2003年毕业于广州美术学院油画系，现生活工作于广州。
段远文近年的绘画中饱含着对生命的沉思。他让生命在广袤的田野中垒积、生长、腐朽，将它们投入不停歇的自我投射与春去秋来中。他的绘画不断创造意外甚至误解，借助对现实的重新设置探讨人置于当代社会中的存在状态，那些看似匪夷所思的自然生长映射出人在特定思考过程中的某种质疑，让观者直面自然与人存在的真相，而对陌生的敏感捕捉与表现也成就了他精神版图的再造。
Born in1978 in Hengyang, Hunan, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, currently lives and works in Guangzhou.
The paintings of Duan Yuanwen in recent years are imbued with contemplation of life.He lets life accumulate, grow, and decay across vast fields, immersing it in ceaseless self-projection and the turn of seasons. Duan’s paintings constantly create accidents and even misunderstandings, who explores the existing state of human beings in the contemporary society by resetting the reality. Those seemingly unbelievable natural growth maps out some doubt of human beings in a specific thinking process, allowing the viewer to directly face the truth of nature and human existence.
