丁雄泉 Walasse Ting ( 1929-2010 )

1929年出生于江苏无锡,是国际著名的画家。他以运用鲜艳夺目的色彩来描绘花卉和迷人的美女最为著名。1940年代曾修读于上海美术专科学校,1948年年仅19岁独闯巴黎,与前卫艺术团体眼镜蛇画派多位成员结为好友,包括卡雷尔·阿佩尔、阿斯葛·琼、皮尔·阿雷新斯基。1957年他赴纽约,与美国艺术家森姆·法兰西斯成为挚友,并深受抽象表现主义和波普艺术的影响。1964年他撰写了一本名为《一仙人生》的诗集,由森姆·法兰西斯主编、EW Kornfeld 出版,与28位著名欧洲和美国波普艺术和表现主义的画家好友如安迪·华荷、罗伊·里奇特斯坦、琼·米切尔等合作,书中收录了62张由这些艺术家原创的石版画。1977年他获美国古根汉基金会绘画奖,此时期的作品运用豪放的笔触和鲜豔的塑胶彩画成,1970年代末开始绘画美女图,逐渐形成了今天我们所熟悉的独特风格。他运用毛笔和水墨在宣纸上鈎画线条,再大笔涂上塑胶彩,色彩明丽、笔法潇洒、充满活力,显示了他对生命的讴歌和对美好事物的挚爱。


Born in Wuxi, Jiangsu in 1929, he is an internationally renowned painter. He is best known for his use of bright colors to depict flowers and charming beauties. He studied at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in the 1940s. In 1948, at the age of 19, he went to Paris alone and became friends with many members of the avant-garde art group Cobra, including Karel Appel, Asgard Jean, and Pierre Aresinsky. In 1957, he went to New York and became close friends with American artist Samuel Francis, and was deeply influenced by abstract expressionism and pop art. In 1964, he wrote a collection of poems called "The Life of an Immortal", edited by Samuel Francis and published by EW Kornfeld. He collaborated with 28 famous European and American pop art and expressionist painters such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Joan Mitchell. The book includes 62 original lithographs by these artists. In 1977, he won the Guggenheim Foundation Painting Award. His works during this period were created with bold brushstrokes and bright acrylic paint. In the late 1970s, he began to paint pictures of beauties, gradually forming the unique style we are familiar with today. He used brushes and ink to draw lines on rice paper, and then applied large amounts of acrylic paint. The bright colors, freehand brushwork, and full of vitality showed his praise for life and his love for beautiful things.
