Born in 1999 in Suzhou, she graduated from the Royal College of Art in2023 in Painting, and now works and lives in London, UK.
Nie Wenhui's works explore themes such as the relationship between humans and animals, the relationship between humans and nature, and human commonality.Through meticulous sketching of mannequins, she questions and reconstructs the shaping and constraints of gender, body and identity in social and cultural frameworks. Animals gently step into her images as symbols, becoming silent witnesses to the intrinsic connection between human beings and nature. Through vivid colors and surreal compositions, she evokes the interplay of internal and external landscapes, and how life and emotions find their resonance and belonging in the most natural state in the intertwined images of motion and stillness.
