1977年出生于黑龙江哈尔滨，2002年毕业于中央美术学院油画系，并于次年加入了具代表性的中国青年艺术团体“N12”。
仇晓飞的艺术实践包括油画、水彩、立体绘画雕塑及装置等媒材，他的早期创作关注与记忆有关的图像溯源学，近期创作则经历了从“绘画再现”到“再现绘画”的过程，创作主题逐渐深入到对文化心理及社会潜意识的探索，挖掘绘画行动推进过程中的即兴与不稳定性，在混杂而丰富的意象间寻找具有张力的平衡点。仇晓飞的作品在国内外多个重要美术馆及机构展出，如巴黎蓬皮杜艺术中心、北京尤伦斯当代艺术中心、香港M+美术馆、荷兰格罗宁根博物馆、德国 ZKM 美术馆、英国泰特利物浦美术馆、瑞士伯尔尼美术博物馆等。
Born in 1977 in Harbin, China, he is committed to exploring new aesthetic, narrative, and affective possibilities through his painting, watercolor, painting sculpture and installation practices. Qiu graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2002. The following year, alongside other graduates of CAFA, he co-founded the N12 group, an artist collective centered on exploring new possibilities in their practices beyond academia.
Qiu’s distinctive and fantastical use of color, combined with powerful evocations of memory and emotion, both personal and universal, characterizes his unique artistic vision and trajectory. Often developing his works intuitively without premeditation, Qiu combines spontaneous gestures with fragments of figurative imagery, resulting in mesmerizing textual and narrative layers that constellate abstract gestures and symbolic references. Qiu Xiaofei’s works have been exhibited in major institutions in China and abroad including Centre Pompidou (Paris), Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (Beijing), M+ (Hong Kong), Groninger Museum (The Netherlands), ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art (German), Tate Liverpool (London), and Kunstmuseum Bern (Switzerland), to name a few.
