1983 年生于吉林。2007 年中央美术学院雕塑系本科毕业，并获学士学位。2014年中央美术学院版画系研究生毕业，获硕士学位。现任教于中央美术学院雕塑系。作品涉及陶瓷、雕塑、绘画、影像等不同媒介。
受邀参加的重要展览包括 2019 年第 58 届威尼斯双年展中国馆、2018 年第 21 届澳大利亚悉尼双年展、2017 年第 57 届威尼斯双年展平行展、2014 韩国釜山双年展等。作品在中国及英、美、法、德、意、西班牙、奥地利、瑞士、芬兰、荷兰、日、韩、印尼、澳大利亚、南美洲等地重要美术馆和博物馆展出。
曾被邀请参加韩国光州毅斋美术馆、日本濑户市立美术馆、英国卡的夫 fireworks 陶瓷工作室、爱尔兰国家雕塑厂，以及德国柏林、法国巴黎等艺术家驻地创作项目。曾参与美国西弗尼基亚大学、德国卡尔斯鲁厄艺术设计学院等校际交流、交换项目。
陶瓷、雕塑、绘画、及影像作品被诸多国内外公共机构收藏，包括中国中央美术学院美术馆、河南博物院、武汉美术馆、筑中美术馆、香港 M+美术馆／乌利.希克收藏，英国威尔士国家博物馆、美国威斯康星大学查森美术馆、韩国光州美术馆、日本濑户美术馆、澳大利亚白兔美术馆、荷兰皇家陶瓷博物馆、加拿大西蒙弗雷泽大学图书馆、澳大利亚维多利亚国家博物馆、澳大利亚动力博物馆等。
影像作品曾入选的电影节展映有“中国动画百年，万籁鸣文献展——中国独立动画电影论坛特别展映”，成都大学美术与影视学院美术馆；11.IZDANJE 25FPS电影节，克罗地亚；“Here out there”展，芬兰赫尔辛基艺术节；荷兰 HAFF国际动画电影节，荷兰乌特勒支大学博物馆；斯洛伐克 ANČA 国际动画电影节等。
Born in 1983, China. She studied in the Sculpture Department at CAFA(Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China) from 2002, and in 2013, she studied atHFG (Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, Germany).She graduated with aMaster's Degree from the Printmaking Department of CAFA in 2014. GengXue hasproduced many works in media such as sculpture, ceramic, installation, film and others.
She was invited to exhibit her works in the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019; the 21stBiennale of Sydney in 2018; “In motion” in 2017, 100th anniversary Exhibition,Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics，Holland; 57th Venice Biennale"Memory and Contemporary" Exhibition;Busan Biennale in 2014, Busan, South Korea,ect. Her pieces were exhibited in museums such as Berkeley Museum of Art, CA.,U.S.; Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University, U.S. ; Miro Museum(Fundacio Joan Miro) Barcelona, Spain; Applid Art Museum, Frankfurt, Germany;Lehmbruch Museum, Germany. Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai,China;University Museum, Utrecht, Holland. ect.
She was invited to participate in Kwangju Art Museum, South Korea,Korea;Seto City Art Museum,Japan;Fireworks Clay Studios of Caediff,UK;National Sculpture Factory of Ireland, and different Artist-in-Residence Program held by artists in Berlin,Germany;Paris France.She Participated in inter-university exchange programs with institutions such as West Virginia University in the United States and the Karlsruhe University of Art and Design in Germany.
Her pieces were collected by numerous domestic and international public institutions,including CAFA Art Museum, Beijing, China; National Museum of Wales,UK.; Chazen Museum of Art, University of Wisconsin-Madison, U.S.A.; Kwangju Art Museum, South Korea; Seto city Art museum ,Japan; White Rabbit Collection,Australia;Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics,Holland.
