Albie’s creative process is heavily influenced by the medium of photography, having been involved in photography with his father since childhood, which led to his interest in capturing moments, and now forms the basis for his paintings. At the same time, his work draws inspiration from a range of themes that stem from life and are extensively researched. While Albie’s earlier work explored different themes through carefully arranged photographs, his recent work focuses on a more personal perspective, and after experiencing negative emotional trauma, he began to incorporate places and memories with his loved ones into his artwork. This shift is reflected in his recent deep understanding of his inner world, allowing him to express the complexity of his experiences through painting. Albie mainly works with wood and metal, and occasionally experiments with different types of canvas. His paintings begin with photographs taken with digital and film cameras, which provide inspiration for his work’s composition. His works seem to have a blurred filter attached to them, reminiscent of old photos in memory. For the artist, painting is not just about depicting the picture itself; it is an emotional process that provides spiritual satisfaction in the form of meditation. He intentionally leaves his work open to the viewer’s interpretation, encouraging each viewer to find their own understanding within the layers of color and emotion.
