Born in 1985, she is a Chinese-British artist living and working in the UK. Dedicated to the medium of projected light, Deng investigated the temporal and structural qualities of the medium and orchestrated a unique composition of light, space and time. Her art practice balanced the order and chance—formed harmony by engineering the organic. Her lightworks bring tangible experiences with temporal immediacy. Light as an abstract medium, in some way liberated Deng from the limitation of scale, her lightworks ranged from sculpture, and site-specific installation, to staged performances.
Light functions as either the object or the subject, but a sensual abstract—a tool to evoke our unaware notion connected to the architectural space, further to time.
