李昌鹏的作品对图像时代所塑造的观看进行反思。媒体对图像的光速生产压缩了人们的观看时间，导致视觉被迫进入一种无尽的滑动而丢失了观看的深度。随着观看方式愈发扁平化，艺术家希望以绘画的方式来呈现由此引发的种种变化。
李的画面描绘了媒体图像的胶片形态。通过将图像在不同媒介的观看角度重叠，他邀请观众在疏离感中回味那些原本被遗忘或被边缘化的信息。在这一过程中，媒体中的图像被艺术家以绘画的方式带回暗房进行冲洗，于“显影”的过程中揭示了这些图像背后不同的话语结构。
Born in Jiangxi, China in 1998, graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, UK with a Master of Fine Arts in Painting in 2023. Currently lives and works in London, UK.
Changpeng Li's works reflect on how the image-centric era has transformed our way of seeing. The media's lightning-fast production of images has compressed our viewing time, leading to a visual experience that's forced into an endless scroll, stripping away the depth of our gaze. As ways of seeing become increasingly flattened, the artist seeks to explore the resulting changes through the medium of painting.
Li's paintings depict media images as a form of camera film. By overlaying perspectives from different image mediums, he invites viewers to recall the sense of alienation, rediscovering those messages that were once forgotten or marginalized. In this process, images from the media are taken back into the darkroom for “development” through painting, revealing their different underlying discursive structures.
