1985年生于辽宁葫芦岛。 2010年毕业于中央美术学院油画系获学士学位，2016年毕业于中央美术学院油画系获硕士学位，导师刘小东。作品被中央美术学院、中国油画院、何香凝美术馆、中国国家大剧院、岭南美术馆等机构和个人收藏。
刘洋多次到国外旅行、写生和创作，他会在当地购买当天的报刊并直接在上面作画，形成绘画与图像的遮盖。 在他的画中，景物仅作为引子将观者带入另一种空间。刘洋在创作观念上是一位强调不断解构和重构的历史主义者，也是一位悲剧主义者。他的画中加入了一些令人感到惶恐的视觉元素，传达了他面对记录过去的图像和历史时的那种眩晕感、永恒感，以及对历史碎片中人物命运的彷徨。绘画语言的活力与内在悲剧意识的拉扯形成了强大的视觉张力空间。
Born in Huludao, Liaoning in 1985. He graduated from the oil painting department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree in 2010 and a master's degree under the tutelage of Liu Xiaodong in 2016. His works have been collected by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Chinese Academy of Oil Painting, He Xiangning Art Museum, National Theater of China, Lingnan Art Museum and other organizations and individuals.
Liu Yang traveled abroad many times to sketch and create. He would buy local newspapers and periodicals of the day and paint directly on them, forming a covering of paintings and images. In his paintings, scenery only serves as an introduction to bring the viewer into another space. Liu Yang is a historicist who emphasizes constant deconstruction and reconstruction in his creative concept, and he is also a tragedian. His paintings incorporate some frightening visual elements, conveying his sense of dizziness and eternity when faced with images and history that record the past, as well as his hesitation about the fate of the characters in the fragments of history. The vitality of the painting language and the pull of the inner tragic consciousness form a powerful visual tension space.
