1980年生于天津，2003年本科毕业于天津工艺美术学院国画系，2005年毕业于中国艺术研究院研究生课程班，现生活工作于北京。
自2010年以来，郑毅一直创作关于“盒子”的作品。这些作品大都关乎个人记忆、集体记忆并形成了其内在的体系。他曾经受到超现实主义、集合主义以及极简主义的影响，并试图将物的精神性和人类生命体验结合在一起，这是中国美学中的禅意特征。如今他更加关注作品的现场性，以及如何在作品和公众之间形成对话和共振。
Born in Tianjin in 1980, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Institute of Arts and Crafts in 2003 and graduated from the postgraduate course of the China Academy of Art in 2005. He currently lives and works in Beijing.
Since 2010, Zheng Yi has been creating works about "boxes". Most of these works are about personal memory and collective memory and form their inner system. He was influenced by Surrealism, Collectionism and Minimalism, and tried to combine the spirituality of objects with human life experience, which is a Zen feature in Chinese aesthetics. Nowadays, he pays more attention to the on-site nature of his works and how to form a dialogue and resonance between the works and the public.
