毕业于上海音乐学院。
刘九彰的作品以实验音乐、氛围音乐类型为主，借由创作过程中的随机性完成音乐画面的不设限变化，音乐气氛空灵，专注当下感受，不倾向人为力量，追求自然流露。
刘九彰作为首席在北京保利剧院、中国国家大剧院、上海东方艺术中心、上海喜玛拉雅艺术中心、台北国家戏剧院等重要剧院演出。在知美术馆举办个人音乐会《空谷幻季》。为湖南卫视大型艺术装置《生生不息》创作主题曲，唯一开幕演出。

Liu Jiuzhang's works are mainly experimental music and ambient music. He tends to use the randomness in the creative process to achieve unrestricted changes in the musical scene. The music has an ethereal atmosphere, focusing on the feelings of the here-and-now, not leaning towards artificial forces, and pursuing natural expressions.
As the chief musician, Liu Jiuchang has performed in important theaters such as Beijing Poly Theater, China National Center for the Performing Arts, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Shanghai Himalayas Art Center, and Taipei National Theater. Liu has held a solo concert "Empty Valley, Fantasy Season" at Zhi Art Museum. He also composed the theme song for Hunan TV's large-scale art installation Eternal Life, and participated in the only opening performance.
