1988年生于黑龙江省，硕士毕业于南京艺术学院美术学院，现工作生活于南京。
王中宇现为中国美术家协会会员、中国艺术研究院访问学者、江苏省美术家协会会员、南京书画院青年画院特聘画家、获2020年度江苏艺术基金美术创作项目资助、2022年度国家艺术基金青年人才项目资助。
王中宇的绘画风格巧妙地融合了传统与现代元素，展现出一种戏剧化的生活蒙太奇。在他的作品中，传统的色彩和技法被用于描绘当代生活，创造出现代视觉体验的同时，保留了传统艺术的韵味。形式上，他采用唐代人物的憨态和形象，将其置于养懒文化的现代背景中，形成跨越时空的艺术表现。这种跨时代的结合，展现了古今人类生活方式的对比和融合。
在创作中，王中宇追求寓动于静的美感。他认为中国画本质上是含蓄、寂静、深远的，因此，他的人物画在构图安排上通过形式语言的整体强化达到以静显动的视觉效果，在造型表现上借助自身的审美取向获得静中有动的画面趣味。
Born in Heilongjiang Province in 1988, he graduated with a master's degree from the School of Fine Arts of Nanjing University of the Arts. He currently works and lives in Nanjing.
Wang Zhongyu is currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a visiting scholar of the China Academy of Art, a member of the Jiangsu Artists Association, a distinguished painter of the Youth Painting Academy of the Nanjing Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and received funding from the 2020 Jiangsu Art Fund Art Creation Project and the 2022 National Art Fund Young Talent Project funding.
Wang Zhongyu's painting style skillfully blends traditional and modern elements to present a dramatic montage of life. In his works, traditional colors and techniques are used to depict contemporary life, creating a modern visual experience while retaining the charm of traditional art. Formally, he adopted the naive attitudes and images of characters from the Tang Dynasty and placed them in the modern context of laziness culture, forming an artistic expression that spans time and space. This cross-era combination shows the contrast and integration of human lifestyles in ancient and modern times.
In his creation, Wang Zhongyu pursues the beauty of movement and stillness. He believes that Chinese painting is implicit, silent, and profound in nature. Therefore, in terms of composition and arrangement, his figure paintings achieve a visual effect of stillness showing movement through the overall strengthening of formal language, and in terms of modeling expression, he uses his own aesthetic orientation to achieve stillness.
