程也通过视觉艺术来表达关于文化迁移和家的观念。她以自身的经历为出发点，反应全球化、都市危机、以及虚拟社交网下的“新时代游牧”的内在体验。《记忆地图》系列作品，受到后殖民理论家霍米·巴巴（Homi K. Bhabha）的“第三空间”理念的启发，强调每个人都是文化和社会亲和力的独特融合体。通过一系列模糊的记忆图像、山水的文化符号以及抽象的几何空间在画面中的异位重组，程也创造出一个独特的多元文化交流空间。
此外，她的绘画并非采用传统的绢、纸本、帆布或亚麻，而是使用仿丝绸的聚酯纤维，结合了水粉、色粉笔、油画颜料或丙烯等多种材料，不仅在视觉上呈现出多元身份背景下文化的融合与距离，也在物理层面上体现出材料的异质结合。
Born in Zhengzhou, China in 1992, is a Chinese American artist. She graduated with a MFA degree in Fine Art from the New School at Parsons, New York in 2022. And a BFA degree in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. Currently based in New York.
Cheng Ye expresses concepts of cultural migration and the notion of home through visual arts. Drawing from her own experiences, her work reflects the inner experiences of the "new age nomad" under globalization, urban crises, and the realm of virtual social networking. Her "Memory Map" series is inspired by postcolonial theorist Homi K. Bhabha's concept of the "Third Space," emphasizing that each person is a unique amalgamation of cultural and social affinities. Through a series of blurred memory images, cultural symbols of landscapes, and the dislocated recombination of abstract geometric spaces in her artwork, Cheng creates a distinctive multicultural communicative space.
Furthermore, her paintings do not employ traditional mediums like silk, paper, canvas, or linen. Instead, she uses polyester fibers resembling silk, combined with materials like gouache, pastel, oil paint, or acrylic. This not only visually presents the fusion and distance of cultures within a multi-identity background but also physically manifests the heterogeneous combination of materials.
