Born in the Philippines in 1985, is a self-taught street artist. Blic is a member of Pilipinas Street Plan, an avant-garde art group, and the founder of Cavity Collection, a street artist commune.
In his painting creation, human hands have always been the core element of his pictures, and these anthropomorphic human hands have become the "human beings" in his works. In the picture, the image of the hand replaces the face of the character. The relaxation and tension, stretching and bending of the hand movement, together with the background elements around the character, convey the emotional tension and also reveal an indescribable sense of fun . In the highly saturated colors, unrestrained and delicate brushstrokes, and the hazy picture texture, the meaning of surrealism comes alive on the canvas.
In Pop Art, the originality, uniqueness and heroic meaning of modern art are replaced by everyday mass production, and the so-called gap between art and the public tends to disappear gradually. Pop artists focused on images from popular culture, such as advertisements, cartoons, magazines, and merchandise images. Use the elite thinking against abstract expressionism to praise the ordinary beauty in daily life.
And when we return to the picture itself, the storytelling and emotional tension produced by Blic's pen in different fields, a person in the picture is an ordinary member of public life, just like ordinary you, me and him. In a kind of identity and resonance, the cultural spirit of street art is exported to a wider public.
