1961年出生于中国广州。1985年移居加拿大温哥华并就读于爱米莉·卡尔艺术与设计学院至1989毕业。现主要工作生活于上海、北京。
他执着地用照相机的镜头冷眼旁观着这个纷繁的世界，再用写意的笔触过滤掉繁复琐碎的生活细节，并最终形成了自己独特的“冷日常”系列绘画。他将自己的早期创作概括为“万物皆有神，万物皆神圣”。在他独特的日常视角中，有被隐去面孔的暧昧人体、有空寂无人的工业风景、还有平凡之物的庄重造像……他将自我敏锐的触角散布进不同的“具象”之中，又在画布上将它们“抽象”成另一种似乎可以进入“永恒”的生命形式。
Born in Guangzhou, China in 1961. In 1985, he moved to Vancouver, Canada and studied at Emily Carr College of Art and Design until graduating in 1989. Now he mainly works and lives in Shanghai and Beijing.
He persistently used the camera lens to observe this complicated world with a cold eye, and then used freehand brushwork to filter out the complicated and trivial details of life, and finally formed his own unique "Cold Everyday" series of paintings. He summarized his early creations as "everything has a god and everything is sacred." In his unique daily perspective, there are ambiguous human bodies with hidden faces, deserted industrial landscapes, and solemn statues of ordinary things... He spreads his sensitive tentacles into different "concrete objects" , and "abstract" them on the canvas into another life form that seems to be able to enter "eternity".
