1989年出生于四川成都，2015年毕业于中央美术学院家具设计专业，2021年毕业于中央美术学院雕塑系第三工作室，现生活于北京。
吴尚聪觉得读书时自己一直是错位的，也不算优秀生。他觉得创作跟个人的关系是相互伴随、相互渗透的。谈到材料，他说垃圾里有文化。他还说趣味很重要，但不是做艺术的驱动力。自己一直喜欢做“小东西”，从来没改变。
Born in Chengdu, Sichuan in 1989, he received his BFA in Furniture Design from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, in 2015, and his MFA from the Sculpture Department, Studio 3, at the same institution in 2021. He is based in Beijing.
Wu Shangcong feels that he has been misfitted during his studies and is not regarded as an exceptional student. Refering to creativity, he believes that it should be accompanied and permeated with individuality; referring to materials, he believes garbage holds knowledge. The sense of fun is also significant, but it should not be the only factor for driving artistic expression. A passion for making "small things" has never changed for him.
