Although she graduated from the Department of Printmaking at CAFA, Ju Ting's practice has long broken through traditional printmaking. Her works blur the boundaries between printmaking, painting, sculpture and performance, and are difficult to be simply classified as abstract painting. Layers of color and the force applied to the paint by hand or with the help of tools visualize an unspeakable reality, that is, the material reality presented by the systematic and uncertain formal exploration. Especially in the "Untitled" series, the covering, tearing and folding of the entire piece of paint demonstrates the violence of fragmentation and the gravity of drooping. Ju Ting's creative method allows external forces to act on each "layer", and the cut and torn picture presents plasticity, as if the form is organically generated from the inside of the image.
